welcome to Rowland adult and Community Education my name is Stephanie Garcia and I will be your school counselor today we'll be going over your orientation I will introduce you to our staff followed by our programs for adult secondary education are modalities of instruction Hoss's testing counseling services and lastly our registration process we like to call ourselves race for Rowland Adult Community Education here we have a well-rounded staff from councillors instructors administrators and assistants who are dedicated in here to help you every step of the way an adult secondary program we have two options we have the high school diploma in order to participate in this you must complete 205 credits and as you can see it you have the classes listed here all of his classes must be completed in order for you to obtain your high school diploma our second option is the high school equivalency certificate there are two tests available the g e d and the hiset offering both passed out of school for theme and we also offer free prep classes if you choose the hiset exam and meet certain criteria you may be eligible for reimbursement of your test cost we offer variety of instructional modalities here at race we have online classes that might be a zoom we have in person classes and we have hybrid classes are hybrid classes have a combination of in-person and online you will be completing your work there a website called at night time in order to get oriented with this website you can click on the link below this video to watch an introduction your instructor will help you get started by setting up your account and help me navigate to site you will be taking a placement test called passes this test will allow us to see your current reading level if you would like more information about the test with the click on the link below we offer of a variety of counseling services such as academic planning where we help you choose the classes to meet your goal career and College Planning where we help you explore possible careers or if you would like to continue your education help you select the major and with that we also help you transition on to college or trade school by going over different programs different schools and we help you with the application process lastly if you were walking to go straight into the workforce we help you with resume building interview skills and also job search counseling services are available to help you and support you one-on-one now that you have watch orientation video I can't wait to meet you in person but before we schedule an appointment I would like you to think about the history question what program are you interested in continuing your education and what are your goals topically this program again my name is Stephanie Garcia and I'm here to support you I can't wait for you to involve contact me so I can help you continue your race for lifelong learning
