OCTOBER 7, 2021 -- Rowland Unified School District was accepted into the League of Innovative Schools, a national coalition of forward-thinking K-12 school districts organized by Digital Promise, a nonprofit organization with the mission to accelerate innovation in education and improve the opportunity for all to learn through technology and research. Rowland Unified School District was selected from a competitive national pool of applicants based on its educational leadership, innovative vision for learning, key achievements and evidence of results, and demonstrated commitment to equity and excellence. Examples of Rowland USD’s innovation can be seen in this video of bringing educational equity through the Music for All and College Connect programs.

I want to let our community know that we have some of the best teacher I really need to fight there a special group when I hear great things happening I already know that's coming from our are music teachers I think with remote teaching if force is every teacher to be Innovative I do a video every day I called thingy daily sight reading what is the purpose is to give the students a little bit of a warm up every day so I'll say okay. Is today's daily wear them reading go ahead and possibly do right here and see if you got the Rhythm right at the beginning of the year that I can oh my gosh my ensembles are going to be bored at work nobody's going to want to do this with me and everybody's going to drop out but it's been quite the opposite were flourishing it's not ideal of course is it the way we want this all the time no get together success I've I see in my program this year is that we are still able to create music during the pandemic it's not just school it's not just for academics that make the well-rounded kid even though we're far apart you know we can't physically be at school it's programs like these that Roland offers our students that keeps our students involved keeps them committed and makes them feel like they have some place to belong and don't feel like every single student matters the college program I believe debunks a lot of myths and misconceptions about college and access to college while the program designed to help kids realize that dream of college is a reality if you have a gold and dream of attending college let us help you so the earlier that we work with our students more likely they are to succeed and attend college you know I feel that students want to be a part of the college connect program but I truly feel that the reason why students are so captivated by this program is because of the information that we are gathering and giving out to students is vital there's something very firing about students engaging in conversation and then discussed in the discussion about possibility of applying to schools having never even thought of or or applying for scholarships and realizing that these opportunities are actually out there that are out there but they are also other that they are within their reach ratifying and very empowering about that that is that is with a changed again for me and these kids are going to be this person or family to go to college that's remarkable I openly talked about going to college week what does atmosphere we create this climate on College access to I will I will go to Berkeley I will go to Stanford I will put on Harper and I will make it
