Adult Secondary Education Programs

To complete high school students have two options in programs:

  • High School Diploma Credit Classes
  • High School Equivalency Prep Class (GED or HiSET)

Both programs prepare students to obtain employment or continue their education.

High School Diploma Program

Rowland Adult and Community Education is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Students will be granted a high school diploma upon successful completion of all requirements. A total of 160 credits are required to obtain a high school diploma. Credit may be awarded for previous schooling, work experience or military service. Students work at their own pace on individual contracts in a classroom laboratory setting with instructor support. A minimum of 10 credits must be taken at RACE before a diploma is issued.

GED/HiSET Equivalency Exam

Preparation classes are offered to help students take the GED/HiSET equivalency exams. Each exam consists of 4 to 5 subtests. Exams are available in English and Spanish.  A certificate of completion will be awarded to students who pass the GED/HiSET exam.
